Participating farms will welcome visitors from noon to 4 p.m. Farms are: Andean Dawn Alpaca Farm, 313 Ball Hill Road; Rattle Root Farm, 89 Mirick Road; and Stimson Farm, 207 Thompson Road.

Princeton has a rich agricultural heritage, reflected in its early farmhouses and barns and the stone walls bordering fields and pastures. Back then, most families depended on their gardens, orchards, and livestock to feed their families, and sold or bartered the surplus production. Each farm will offer hands-on fun activities for children as well.

Holden Garden Club plant sale

HOLDEN — The Holden Garden Club’s annual plant sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Damon House, 1157 Main St. The sale will offer a wide variety of area-grown perennials, as well as variety packs of tomatoes, peppers and herbs.
