{"id":47488,"date":"2024-03-21T13:33:07","date_gmt":"2024-03-21T13:33:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelandmark.com\/?p=47488"},"modified":"2024-03-21T13:33:07","modified_gmt":"2024-03-21T13:33:07","slug":"princeton-paxton-caucuses-select-candidates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devcherryroad.com\/news2\/2024\/03\/21\/princeton-paxton-caucuses-select-candidates\/","title":{"rendered":"Princeton, Paxton caucuses select candidates"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"byline\"><em>By Ken Cleveland<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Landmark Correspondent<\/em><\/div>\n<p>Paxton and Princeton held their traditional town caucuses to select candidates for the annual elections.<\/p>\n<p>In both towns, candidates may still run if they complete the paper nomination process, obtaining signatures from registered voters and filing the papers with the town clerk.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Princeton <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Voters will have decisions to make for Princeton&#8217;s Select Board and the Wachusett Regional School Committee after 27 voters turned out for the traditional town caucus on March 13.<\/p>\n<p>Any residents who wish to run in the May 13 town election can still do so through the paper nomination process. They have until March 25 to get and file papers, which need to be signed by at least 20 registered town voters.<\/p>\n<p>Incumbent Karen Cruise and Edwin Carlson are vying for the three-year seat on the Select Board, while incumbent Dana Lorway and Stephanie Jordan are seeking a single Princeton seat, a three-year term, on the Wachusett Regional School Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Other candidates on the 2024 ballot include: Board of Assessors, one seat for a three-year term, Laurie Kraemer; Electric Light Commission, one seat for a three-year term, incumbent Phil Gott; moderator, one seat for a one-year term, incumbent, Harry Pape; Planning Board, two seats for three-year terms, Corey E. Burnham-Howard and Lawrence Louis Deblois; Trustee of Trust Funds, one seat for a three-year term, incumbent William Holder; Trustee of Trust Funds, one seat for a two-year term, to finish a term, incumbent Bryan Acuto.<\/p>\n<p>For more information or to obtain papers in Princeton, contact the town clerk\u2019s office at 978-464-2103 or email <a href=\"mailto:townclerk@town.princeton.ma.us\">townclerk@town.princeton.ma.us<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paxton<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Paxton, the ballot for the May 13 annual town election has a slate of candidates ready for voters, though there is room if more wish to run. There are no contests thus far.<\/p>\n<p>The annual caucus on March 11 nominated residents for positions, with 36 voters participating, a turnout of 1%. Those who still want to run can do so through a paper nomination process until March 25.<\/p>\n<p>Contact the town clerk\u2019s office for information and papers, which need to have signatures of 22 registered town voters. Pingitore; assessor, one seat for three years, incumbent Deirdre Louise Malone; Board of Health, one seat for three years, incumbent Thomas B. Carroll; Cemetery Commission, one seat for three years, incumbent Brian Brosnihan; Library Trustee, two seats for three years, incumbents Catherine Mary McCourt and Christopher James Isperduli; Library Trustee, one seat for two years for remainder of regular term, incumbent Rachel A. Stone (appointed); Municipal Light Board, one seat for three years, incumbent Yvette M. Orell; Planning Board, one seat for five years, incumbent David Richard Bloom; Recreation Commission, two seats for three years, incumbent Heather L. Larson and R. Dustin Hill; Wachusett Regional School District Committee, one seat for three years, incumbent Scott Runstrom; Water Board, one seat for three years, incumbent David L.
