{"id":47178,"date":"2024-01-18T15:01:55","date_gmt":"2024-01-18T15:01:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelandmark.com\/?p=47178"},"modified":"2024-01-18T15:01:55","modified_gmt":"2024-01-18T15:01:55","slug":"students-move-into-dawson-modulars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devcherryroad.com\/news2\/2024\/01\/18\/students-move-into-dawson-modulars\/","title":{"rendered":"Students move into Dawson modulars"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"byline\"><em>By Ken Cleveland<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Landmark Correspondent<\/em><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">HOLDEN \u2014 It may have seemed like a long wait for students crowded into spaces at Dawson Elementary School, but it has taken less than six months to get modular units installed at the school.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">On Jan. 2, students returned to the school, which had the two added classrooms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThis is quite a happy way to start the New Year, as it has been a huge project over the past several months,\u201d Principal Joy Wilde said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt is so exciting for our school community,\u201d Wilde said, adding thanks \u201cfor all the hard work and patience from our staff, both at the building and district level.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe are very thrilled to get these instructional spaces, and (send a) thank you to all who helped make this possible. The impact on the larger physical space is going to make a huge impact on the student learning experience, including greater opportunities to engage in deeper learning with the curriculum and their peers,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt\u2019s pretty incredible that we talked about something in August and it was done by the first of the year,\u201d Superintendent James Reilly told the Wachusett Regional School Committee Jan. 8.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe kids are pretty happy to be in their classrooms. It\u2019s incredible how good they look,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cTeachers over the break were getting classrooms set up,\u201d so they were ready after the winter break.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe\u2019re really thrilled this could happen,\u201d Reilly said, noting those who made it happen, from town officials and committees to district staff.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt\u2019s one of the better stories we talked about this year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The added two classrooms were first discussed in the summer.
