For more information, email sterlinggrange53@gmail. com or call 978-563-1437.<\/p>\n<p>Cruise on the M\/S Mount Washington PAXTON \u2014 The Friends of Paxton COA and Bob Wilby invite you along on a 2\u00bdhour luncheon buffet cruise on New Hampshire\u2019s beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee on Tuesday, May 23.<\/p>\n<p>Join many area seniors on this cruise on the M\/S Mount Washington, a first-class, 230-foot excursion ship with capacity of 1,200 passengers. The ship features four level,s with indoor and outdoor seating providing comfortable viewing throughout the cruise. The crew will be serving a lunch buffet as the group cruises the lake.<\/p>\n<p>On the way back to Paxton, the group will stop at Moulton Farm, a farmer\u2019s market that has fresh produce, a farm kitchen and a bakery. They will offer hot apple cider with freshly made cider doughnuts to enjoy. This visit should put the topping on a wonderful trip to Lakes Region of New Hampshire.<\/p>\n<p>The trip will leave from the Paxton Senior Center, 17 West St., at 9 a.m., and should be back in Paxton by 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Cost of this trip is $114 per person. Everyone is getting excited about the upcoming gardening season. The Wachusett Garden Club Plant Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 13, at the Thomas Prince School, 170 Sterling Road, Princeton.<\/p>\n<p>If you have plants to contribute to the sale, please dig up, pot, and label plant divisions as soon as possible so the plants will have time to settle in and recover. Email us at onlinewgc@yahoo.com before May 5. Members of the Wachusett Garden Club will contact you about where to deliver plants. Please no invasives. The winner will be announced at the annual town meeting on June 20.<\/p>\n<p>Tale of Two concert<\/p>\n<p>PRINCETON \u2014 The Princeton Arts Society presents A Tale of Two in concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the 1st Congregational Church, 14 Mountain Road. Suggested ticket donation is $10.<\/p>\n<p>Back by popular demand, A Tale of Two is making their second visit to Princeton. The duo combines the best of Americana and blues melodies with timeless Southern storytelling. Award-winning vocalist Stephanie Adlington and guitarist Aaron Lessard draw influence from the likes of Patsy Cline, Tom Waits and Hank Williams Sr. This Nashville, Tennessee, duo is making a number of stops here in the Northeast. Come enjoy them in Princeton.<\/p>\n<p>Community lunch<\/p>\n<p>STERLING &#8211; The next community lunch will be held Saturday, May 6, at First Church. All are welcome to these free, no-reservation- required lunches.<\/p>\n<p>May\u2019s menu is salad, baked Reuben casserole and dessert. Email SGC at SterlingGardenClub1934@gmail.com.<\/p>\n<p>Dan Kirouac concert<\/p>\n<p>PAXTON \u2014 Regional entertainer Dan Kirouac will bring a one-hour piano and vocal concert to the John Bauer Senior Center, 17 West St., at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18. The program will feature radio-friendly pop, rock, and easy-listening songs of the 1960s and 1970s. The performance is open to members of the Paxton senior community and others as space and interest allow (lunch will follow, so a head count is needed). Inquiries at 508-756-2833.<\/p>\n<p>The program is sponsored by a grant from the Paxton Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. Taylor American Legion Post 189 will hold a ham and potato supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at the First Church in Sterling hall. Takeout will be available, and a $12 donation is requested. For tickets, call Jerry Boynton 978-870-3005 or Bob Temple at 978-294-4985.<\/p>\n<p>Paxton Lions townwide yard sale PAXTON\u2014Oneofthelarge chores of spring is cleaning out, and there is no better way than holding a yard or garage sale. The Paxton Lions Club will be holding its annual Townwide Yard Sale on Saturday, May 20. The Lions are also offering space on the town common. The First Congregational Church will be holding its sale that day as well.<\/p>\n<p>Start getting your salable articles together. It is also a great way to meet your neighbors, friends and others after a long winter.<\/p>\n<p>Again the Lions will be producing a map of the locations of all the registered homes in town. Fees will not change from last year: Paxton residents at their home, $15; Paxton Common for Paxton residents, $20. Out-of-towners are welcome to join us on the common for $25. Payments should made out to the Paxton Lions Club and delivered or mailed to Bob Wilby, 11 Tanglewood Road, Paxton, MA 01612.<\/p>\n<p>Grange to recognize veterans<\/p>\n<p>HOLDEN \u2014 The Holden Grange will hold a veterans recognition at 7 p.m. Monday, May 22, in the Holden Senior Center, 1130 Main St. All veterans and those presently in the service are cordially invited to attend.<\/p>\n<p>Veterans in attendance will be recognized, along with the branch in which they served. Three of the veterans will be awarded Quilts of Valor. Lynette Gabrila, director of Veterans Services of Wachusett District, will speak on state and federal benefits, eligibility, and resources. Gabrila serves the communities of Ashburnham, Ashby, Gardner, Princeton and Westminster.<\/p>\n<p>All are welcome to attend this free event.
