{"id":42419,"date":"2023-02-09T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-09T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelandmark.com\/?p=42419"},"modified":"2023-02-09T06:00:00","modified_gmt":"2023-02-09T11:00:00","slug":"paxton-boards-offices-move-to-public-safety-building","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devcherryroad.com\/news2\/2023\/02\/09\/paxton-boards-offices-move-to-public-safety-building\/","title":{"rendered":"Paxton boards, offices move to Public Safety Building"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"byline\"><b>By Ken Cleveland <\/b><br \/>\n        <i>Landmark Correspondent<\/i><\/div>\n<p>PAXTON \u2014 The Select Board may soon be broadcasting from a new location.<\/p>\n<p>The plan was for the board to meet in the training room at the Public Safety Building, possibly by the end of the month.<\/p>\n<p>On target, the board met there for its Jan. 30 meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Town Administrator Heather Munroe told the board Jan. 9 that work had progressed on the goal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Cable Access Committee has had a company installing new cameras and wires over in the Training Room,\u201d Munroe reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe front lobby is getting a facelift with some fresh paint and more customer-friendly access. Our goal is to still move our land use coordinator to the old dispatch area, now estimated to be around Feb. 1. There is now a customer window direct access for the police administration. Once the land use coordinator moves, the public will be able to enter the public safety building lobby without ringing a door bell and receiving direct service,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The effort will provide a larger meeting space for committees. Some, like the Select Board, had been meeting in the John Bauer Senior Center on West Street.<\/p>\n<p>The area being used for office space was once needed for the dispatch center, now part of the regional center in Holden.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> PAXTON \u2014 The Select Board may soon be broadcasting from a new location.
