{"id":41421,"date":"2022-11-17T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-17T11:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelandmark.com\/?p=41421"},"modified":"2022-11-17T06:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-11-17T11:00:00","slug":"paxton-veterans-celebrate-veterans-day-at-pcs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/devcherryroad.com\/news2\/2022\/11\/17\/paxton-veterans-celebrate-veterans-day-at-pcs\/","title":{"rendered":"Paxton veterans celebrate Veterans Day at PCS"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"byline\"><b>By Bob Wilby <\/b><br \/>\n        <i>Community Correspodent<\/i><\/div>\n<p>PAXTON \u2014 For the second year in a row under the leadership of Orville Sheldon and Richard Bedard, 10 Paxton veterans spoke to the students of the three sixth grade classrooms at Paxton Center School about Veteran\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Nov. 9, the group headed to the school to explain the meaning of Veterans\u2019 Day and the importance of how veterans served our country. Students were urged to thank any veteran for their service.<\/p>\n<p>At the town\u2019s latest census, Paxton has 193 veterans living inside its borders.<\/p>\n<p>One of our veterans, Sam Sespaniak, produced a 10-page document explaining the many monuments in town that honor the numerous veterans who fought in wars and never came home. His document also included information on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, located in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. Each student, as well as the teacher, received a copy of Sespaniak\u2019s work.<\/p>\n<p>The veterans shared stories about their personal experiences serving in the Armed Forces for the Unites States.
