PAXTON \u2014 Have you ever been interested in the life and experiences of a whale? Well, this is your chance to learn.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Oct. 26, Paxton area seniors will have the opportunity to visit the New Bedford, Massachusetts, Whaling Museum. The group will enjoy a 60-minute guided tour of this museum, which is dedicated to the science and behavior of whales, their cultural impact, threats to their survival, and empowering all to support conservation efforts. See the massive whale skeletons and a half-scale model of a 19th-century whaling ship.<\/p>\n

Following the learning experience in New Bedford, the bus will take the group to the city of Providence, Rhode Island, and to lunch at Cassarinos Restaurant, in the city\u2019s Italian restaurant area. For lunch, we will select entrees from this menu: Pollo Parmigiana (chicken cutlet with Italian cheeses and marinara sauce), penne primavera (penne topped with a medley of fresh vegetables sauteed in olive oil and garlic) or baked fish with a Ritz cracker crumb topping. Bruschetta will be served prior to our entree. The meal will be finished with coffee and a cannoli. A glass of wine will be available to purchase.<\/p>\n

After lunch, if you are not asleep, a step-on guide will give the group a 1\u00bd-hour tour of one of America\u2019s favorite cities. We will view the city from Federal Hill, State House to College Hill, home of Brown University. Our guide will show off places in Providence that we may never have known about. There will be photo opportunities along the way.<\/p>\n

To finish the day, the group will head for Smithfield, Rhode Island, to Wright\u2019s Dairy Farm & Bakery, not to be confused with Wright\u2019s Chicken Restaurant. The farm and bakery offers a great variety of baked goods and even a 1966 Streamline trailer offering ice cream. What a way to end our trip before arriving back in Paxton by 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

The cost of this wonderful day of learning, eating and enjoying the countryside is $105.<\/p>\n

The Wilson Bus will leave from the Paxton Senior Center, 17 West St. at 8 a.m. Oct. 26. Plenty of parking is available in the lower lot.<\/p>\n
