RUTLAND \u2014 Hope Lives Here will host its second annual Fun Run at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16.<\/p>\n
The run will actually be a 3-mile walk beginning at Glenwood Elementary School, 65 Glenwood Road, heading down the Rail Trail, past the cemetery and back to the school.<\/p>\n
Parking is on the upper school fi\u0081eld, and there will be a police detail.<\/p>\n
A post-event celebration will be held at Lilac Hedge Farm, 216 Wachusett St. Register for the 5K Fun Run at https:\/\/www.hlhgrief.org\/.<\/p>\n
Hope Lives Here is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that helps people struggling with loss and grief. The organization\u2019s aim is to build upon the foundation of loss, compassion, healing and hope, according to founder and Rutland resident Patty Inwood.<\/p>\n
Inwood lost her son Luke to suicide in 2015.<\/p>\n
September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and the Select Board issued a proclamation in recognition at its most recent meeting in August.<\/p>\n
\u201cThings are tough for young people right now, and Hope Lives Here wants to keep talking about it so the young people will reach out when they need it. We\u2019ve got to save the children,\u201d Inwood said.<\/p>\n
Last year\u2019s Fun Run raised $40,000 and helped to provide basic furnishings and a printer for the Hope Lives Here office, she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
