Holden fills town’s WRSC vacancy

HOLDEN — A vacant seat on the Wachusett Regional School Committee was filled last week after the Board of Selectmen interviewed five residents who sought the position. Benjamin Andrews was chosen to fill the position that will expire at the next election, when the number of representatives will drop and Holden’s share will go from 10 to six members, with the town retaining its majority power through weighted voting.

Project Warm-Up STERLING — The Hiram O. Taylor Post 189 of the American Legion, in conjunction with Project Warm-Up, has started the annual drive to collect items to be packed in backpacks and distributed homeless and in need veterans. Last year’s drive resulted in the distribution of goods valued at $15,000, all made possible with the generous support of our donors.

Legion scholarship available

PAXTON — Paxton Post 306 American Legion has announced the availability of scholarships to Paxton residents pursuing further education at any college, university or non-public-funded secondary school. The scholarship is intended for the current second semester, in 2023.
