Paxton reschedules town meeting

PAXTON — Adjusting to accommodate better budgeting numbers, Paxton is moving its annual town meeting from May to June 5 this year. With state budget figures being later than usual because of the new governor, plus working on town and school figures, voters will tackle the town budget and other business on June 5 at 7 p.m.

HOLDEN — As the Wachusett Regional School Committee continues its work planning for next year, members voted March 9 to approve the proposed fiscal 2024 budget for the five-town school district. After the March 6 presentation on the budget, members gathered March 9 in the Rutland library to formally approve the budget it could send to the towns for voters to consider at their annual town meetings.

White Oak land gets conservation restriction

HOLDEN — A Conservation Restriction from the White Oak Land Conservation Society for over 100 acres of open space off Salisbury Street was approved by selectmen at their March 6 meeting. “The town will hold a conservation restriction on that so it will never be developed,” Scott Morrison of White Oaks said.
