Rutland Heights breaks ground as Harmony Place

RUTLAND — On a hill overlooking Rutland once stood the buildings of Rutland Heights. Today, there is open ground, the buildings having been removed after the hospital closed, while the town sought to put the site to new use.

Sterling women ready for first Boston Marathon

STERLING — Michelle Harris and Alicia McHugh, both of Sterling, will be running their first Boston Marathon on Monday, April 17. The two women, who are friends and met as members of the Central Mass.

PRINCETON - The Princeton Select Board is accepting nominations for the 2022 Outstanding Citizen award. Nominations may be submitted to the town administrator at townadministrator@ town.princeton. ma.us. The winner will be announced at the annual town meeting on June 20.

Simmons Univ. dean’s list BOSTON — The following local students were named to the 2022 fall semester dean’s list at Simmons University in Boston: Liz Girard of Holden and Natalie Bergman of Sterling. To qualify for dean’s list status, undergraduate students must obtain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, based on 12 or more credit hours of work in classes using the letter grade system.

PAXTON — The first Roland Card Memorial Foundation Scholarship is being offered to two graduating high school seniors. Applicants must live in the Wachusett Regional/ Worcester area and be entering college in the fall to further their education.
