PRINCETON — The Wachusett Garden Club Plant Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 13, at the Thomas Prince School, 170 Sterling Road, Princeton. The sale will offer a big selection of plants donated by members and friends of the club, including perennial plants and shrubs for sun and shade (including specially grown daylilies), herbs, houseplants and some vegetable plants. There will also be some handmade gardening tool boxes for sale and a “Free” table with good condition gardening items such as books, clay and decorative pots and gardening accessories.

Holden water use restriction notice

HOLDEN — In accordance with the requirements of the Water Management Act Final Permit issued to the town of Holden by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, the town is required to enact a Water Use Restriction from May 1 until Sept. 30, between the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The ban restricts daily “nonessential” outdoor water use from public water sources.

Rutland passes budget, contingent on override

RUTLAND — Voters at the May 6 town meeting approved a budget contingent on the passage of a $2 million Proposition 2½ override at the May 8 town election. The budget is the main duty of the legislative gathering of voters.

Court affirms Holden lawsuit win against Worcester over sewer charges

HOLDEN — A jury verdict in favor of Holden against Worcester was affirmed by the Worcester Superior Court, ending a long effort by Holden over the charges for sewer transport charges. The $14.6 million verdict stemmed from transport charges Worcester levied against Holden.The final judge includes interest and costs that bring the final amount to $26.5 million.
