It’s now time to add the 2022 varsity field hockey’s Veteran’s Day matinee contest on Nov. 11 to that ever-growing list of fan favorites on the hill.

The run will be held Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 24, starting at 8 a.m. at the Big Y parking lot on Reservoir Street. The entry fee is $33. T-shirts will be given out to the first 700 runners to pick up their bibs at the Be Like Brit office, 66 Pullman St., Worcester.

With the recent announcement of a huge hike in National Grid rates, local power companies feel it is a good time to remind ratepayers about the benefits of smaller municipalities. National Grid revealed in September that its electricity customers across the state could be facing a steep increase in their winter bills, as much as 64%.
