It was wonderful to see the holiday spirit at the Friends of the Conant Public Library Arts & Crafts Show, held Nov. 19 at the First Church in Sterling. A record number of shoppers found a wide variety of high-quality art and craft items made by local artisans.

The Henry David Thoreau Foundation is offering scholarships to Massachusetts high school graduates. The Thoreau scholarships are up to $26,000 four-year scholarships awarded to eight students graduating from public or private high schools in Massachusetts.
