Princeton Historical Society looks to add members

PRINCETON — Volunteers are at the heart of what makes both big and small communities tick, and the Princeton Historical Society is looking for individuals to help do just that. According to a recent press release, the society is seeking “inquisitive and creative community members to join our active board and one person to become our future curator.” The time commitment can be as little or as much as people are able to do, but the hope is that the new volunteers would be able to attend and participate in its eight monthly Zoom board meetings and work to help “ensure that our historical treasures are available for (re)discovery by future generation.” Town residents Bus Brooks and Rick Bullock co-chair the all-volunteer, nonprofit organization founded in 1937, which receives no funding from the town.

PAXTON — The Paxton Garden Club is hosting a fun “beat the winter blues and think spring” program: Decoupage Terracotta Pots with Sincerely, Michele, on Jan. 21. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Paxton Council on Aging, 17 West St. Cost is $25 for paid PMACG members, $30 for nonmembers. Space is limited, so advance registration is required.

FOOD PANTRY SUPPORTED

HOLDEN - The Holden Woman’s Club Community Chair, Patricia King presents a $500 donation to Pam Guild of the Wachusett Pantry in November 2022. The Holden Woman’s Club annually supports this wonderful food pantry, an important part of the community. We encourage everyone to support the pantry.

Figueroa plays in FBU Final 8

HOLDEN — Mass Elite Football sent its 6th-, 7th- and 8th-grade allstar teams to the national recognized Football University Championship Final 8 in Naples, Florida, in December. Myles Figueroa, a 7th-grader from Holden, played for his second year on the Mass Elite Team.
