Nomination papers available for Rutland election

RUTLAND — Potential candidates for office in the May 8 town election need to take out nomination papers by March 16 and return them by March 20. The papers are available from the clerk’s office, according to Town Clerk Anita Carlson, and must be returned with 42 signatures of registered town voters, although more are recommended in case some do not qualify.

Lanpher named Player of the Week

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — Belle Lanpher of Princeton has been named the Women’s Basketball Player of the Week by the Northeast Conference. Lanpher averaged 29 points over Central Connecticut State University’s last two contests, leading the Blue Devils in scoring in both games.

Moose modeled for local photographers

HOLDEN – A local couple who connected through their love of photography was able to capture images of the moose who recently wandered through town. The sizeable creature was relocated by the Massachusetts Environmental Police, with assistance from town police and a biologist, last month for her own safety.

WESTON — Regis College has announced its fall 2022 dean’s list of students in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement. To earn a spot on the dean’s list, Regis sophomores, juniors, seniors and professional studies students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher; first-year students must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher.
