RUTLAND — Austin Cyganiewicz was chosen from among three finalists as the Select Board at its March 20 meeting completed its work to get a new, permanent town administrator. “All three candidates were capable superstars,” Select Board member Thomas Galvin said.

Holden exploring options under multifamily regulations

HOLDEN — An effort by the state to expand multifamily housing in town is being met with questions. The so-called MBTA Communities Law, which requires allowing multifamily housing in communities adjacent to a community with an MBTA connections, has Holden officials objecting to the way the law is being presented, as well as its impacts.

Tactical Emergency Response Training held at Thomas Prince

PRINCETON — Public safety personnel from Princeton and the surrounding area participated in Tactical Emergency Response Training the weekend of March 18-19 at Thomas Prince School. Attendees were trained and certified in response training that will help them provide critical care for emergency situations such as treating gunshot and stab wounds, rapid extrication measures, tactical gear and emergency medical procedures to reduce casualties in an active shooter event.

HOLDEN — The Holden Woman’s Club is seeking nominations for its annual Person of the Year award. Nominees should be a Holden resident from any walk of life, any age or gender. Previous recipients have included community volunteers, local business owners, town employees and teachers. All have made a significant contribution to the quality of life in Holden.
