WORCESTER — The College of the Holy Cross celebrated nearly 762 bachelor of arts degree recipients at its 177th Commencement, held in person on Friday, May 26, at the DCU Center in Worcester. U.S. Sen. Peter Welch ‘69 of Vermont, a Class of 1969 alumnus, delivered this year’s address to the Class of 2023 and received an honorary degree.

WORCESTER—Girls on the Run of Worcester County will hold its 5K event at Polar Park on June 10, celebrating the program’s season completion. RUTLAND — Despite the cold, drizzly weather, dozens gathered at Lilac Hedge Farm on June 3 for a beer and wine tasting hosted by the Wachusett Area Rotary Club. HOLDEN — In early April, as the 2023 high school softball season was about to kick off, Wachusett Regional High School varsity head coach Jason Lanpher made a bold prediction as to what to expect from this young team, which had just four seniors on its roster. “We’re young, and we’re going to win differently than we have in the past, but we still have the ability to go the distance,” Lanpher acknowledged at the time.
