WEST BOYLSTON — The Wachusett Watershed Regional Recycling Center, 131 Raymond Huntington Hwy, has announced its special collection dates for 2024. All events are open only to residents of the seven member towns: Boylston, Holden, Paxton, Princeton, Rutland, Sterling and West Boylston. Show your ID at check in.
Household Hazardous Products Collection ONLY: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, April 27 and Oct. 26. These extra Saturdays have been added only for disposal of hazardous products. The rest of the site will be closed. Check the website, wachusettearthday.org/special-collections/, for pricing. Consider bundling loads with a neighbor to decrease the number of cars and the cost per container by bringing in larger loads.
Document Shredding: 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, May 18, Aug. 17, and Oct. 19. Document shredding with a document-shredding truck on site. The first two boxes are free. To reduce your cost and quantity, please recycle non-sensitive materials with your curbside pickup or in the center’s paper recycling dumpster.
Latex Paint Collection: 9 a.m. to noon May through October first Saturdays: May 4, June 1, July 6, Aug. 3, Sept. 7, and Oct. 5. All containers must have the original, readable label. Water based paint will have “latex,” “water-based,” or “acrylic” on the label. Do not consolidate paints or bring oil-based paint or any paint with Alkyd added. Water-based paint cleans up with just soap and water. Check the website for pricing or for instructions on how to dry up small amounts.
