For the ninth consecutive year, SeniorCare.com will award an annual college scholarship to an individual that best demonstrates why “Aging Matters” to them. A $1,500 scholarship will be given annually to a selected college student that currently cares for an aging loved one, works within the senior community, or intends to pursue a career that will have an impact on the elder population. Any existing student (or incoming freshman), in good academic standing at a two- or four-year accredited college can apply for this scholarship. The recipient will demonstrate a unique and admirable understanding and desire to show us that aging matters to them.

Sterling EMS
STERLING — Sterling EMS Inc. provides scholarships on an annual basis for Sterling residents training in medically related training programs. Scholarships are available in amounts of $1,000 for the Standard Scholarships and $2,500 for the Memorial Scholarships.
Recipients of the Standard Scholarship shall be Sterling residents enrolled in a medically related training program. Recipients of the Memorial Scholarship shall be Sterling residents who are recent graduates entering an undergraduate, post-secondary educational program in a medically related field.
Applicants must be graduates (or soon to be graduates) of an accredited high school, possess a GED or have taken the Commonwealth of Massachusetts test of competency for home schooled/alternatively schooled individuals. Rutland Historical Society
RUTLAND — The Rutland Historical Society is accepting scholarship applications. The scholarships are offered to any two Rutland high school seniors planning to enter college who have resided in the town of Rutland for at least two years. The two $500 awards are based on scholarship with an emphasis given to involvement and contributions in the areas of both school and community. Applicants can obtain scholarship forms by contacting Sheila Judkins at sljwheeler@gmail.com. Forms should be submitted with an official transcript, SAT or ACT scores, and a letter of recommendation by May 31.

Village Green Preschool
STERLING — The Village Green Preschool in Sterling is offering its 20th annual scholarship. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded each year to a graduating senior who attended VGP and plans to attend a two- or four-year accredited college or university. Applications are available in the guidance department of local high schools. They are also available via email from the preschool office. Completed applications must be postmarked by April 1.

Jason S. Bradshaw Memorial Scholarship
HOLDEN — Two $1,000 scholarships will again be awarded at the Wachusett Regional High School graduation. The scholarship is in memory of Jason S. Bradshaw, class of 1990. The scholarship is in its 31st year.
Scholarships will be awarded to two graduating students who have persevered through health, learning, or other challenges and are continuing their education in a post-secondary environment. Preference will be given to candidates on IEP’s or 504 plans.
Candidates should fill out the common scholarship application with letter of recommendation and return to K. Henry at Wachusett Regional High School (rm A114), or mail to WRHS, 1401 Main St., Holden, MA 01520. The deadline for completed applications to be received is April 5.
Holden Woman’s Club
HOLDEN — The Holden Woman’s Club is offering three scholarships this year to 2024 graduating high school seniors who are residents of Holden.
There will be two $2,000 scholarships as well as the new and specially funded Carroll Halliwell Scholarship in the amount of $3,500, specifically for a Holden resident planning to pursue a foreign language major in college.
Applications must be received by April 11. Applications are available at the guidance office of Wachusett Regional High School, at the reference desk at the Gale Free Library, or by emailing Carrollmaryjane2@gmail.com.
Eugene L. Oriol Memorial Community Scholarship
HOLDEN — The Oriol Foundation is offering The Eugene L. Oriol Memorial Community Scholarship to a graduating senior in the Wachusett district towns and Boylston and West Boylston who will be pursuing a degree in health care. This scholarship aims to support the future of healthcare, and honor the memory and legacy of Eugene Oriol, the founder and first administrator of Holden Nursing Home.

Paxton Lions Club
PAXTON — The Paxton Lions Club is again offering scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Those who anticipate entering a college, a university, a technical school or any other educational pursuit beyond high school, and have been a resident of Paxton for at least one year, may apply.
The Robert J. Zoppo Memorial Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academics, community and school involvement, and need. The scholarship will be paid upon the successful completion of students’ first semester.
To apply, use the common scholarship form available at your high school guidance office, or by calling the Lions scholarship committee at 508-798-5092. A copy of the student’s transcript and one teacher recommendation must be included with the application. Application deadline is Friday, April 19. The Corner Shop
HOLDEN — The Corner Shop at the First Congregational Church of Holden, 1180 Main St., has two scholarships of $1,000 each available to any member of the communities served by The Corner Shop. Scholarships are open to high school seniors as well as college students currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited school or institution. If the scholarship is awarded to a high school senior, the $1,000 award will be given out after one semester of college is completed with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Obtain application forms from The Corner Shop during business hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays; or 9 to 11:30 a.m. the third Saturday of the month) from the church office, or at https://www.fccholden.org/corner-shop-outreach. The deadline for application submission is April 30, with awards made in June.
Wachusett Area Chamber
HOLDEN — The Wachusett Area Chamber of Commerce will offer up to three $2,500 scholarships this year to qualified graduating seniors living in the Wachusett area. To be eligible, applicants must be planning to pursue business studies as full-time students at a two- or four-year college and reside in one of the chamber’s service area towns: Boylston, Holden, Paxton, Princeton, Rutland, Sterling and West Boylston. Applicants with exceptional community service may also be considered for the Brian R. Forts Memorial Scholarship, which comes with an additional award.
Applications can be obtained from the Guidance Department at area high schools and are available on www.wachusettareachamber.org. Students should mail the completed application, along with the required information, to the Wachusett Area Chamber of Commerce, 1174 Main St., Holden, MA 01520. The deadline to apply is April 30. Winners will be announced prior to high school graduation, and the awards will be given out at the Wachusett Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting in June.
Holden Grange
HOLDEN — Holden Grange is offering its W. Sumner and Howard L. Jordan Scholarship to a graduating high school senior or student in attendance at any recognized institution of learning beyond high school who has not received this scholarship previously. Scholarships are offered for a degree-granting program and a full-time or part-time non-degree granting vocational education program designed to prepare students for work in a trade or a specific field. Scholarship awards range from $300 to $1,000, depending upon type of program and enrollment status.
An applicant who does not belong to Holden Grange must reside in Holden, Paxton, Princeton, Rutland or Sterling and be pursuing a course of study in agriculture/horticulture, veterinary science, or conservation/environment. A Holden Grange member in good standing for at least one year preceding the date of application is eligible to pursue any course of study.
Scholarship recipients will be named in June, and funds will be awarded upon successful completion of the first semester with at least a 3.0 grade point average for a degree-granting program or evidence of successful completion for vocational courses.
An application in the form of a letter of intent, stating future educational goals and a description of three community activities or three Grange activities in which the applicant is involved, must be accompanied by a transcript and a letter of recommendation. All parts of the application must be emailed or postmarked by May 1 to Holden Grange, 26 Glenwood Place, Rutland, MA 01543. Marsh-Harding Scholarship
RUTLAND — The Central Tree Middle School PTO, Glenwood Elementary School PTO and Naquag Elementary School PTO are seeking applicants for the annual Marsh-Harding Scholarship. The Marsh-Harding Scholarship is available to any graduating high school senior who has resided in Rutland for at least five years. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of outstanding academic standing, exceptional extracurricular involvement, and leadership. Financial need may also be considered.
Interested students should submit a completed application, along with the required essay, a copy of the student’s high school transcript, SAT scores, and a written recommendation from a teacher or principal, to: Marsh-Harding Scholarship Committee, Naquag PTO, 285 Main St., Rutland, MA 01543. Students may obtain an online copy of the scholarship application on the Central Tree Middle School, Glenwood Elementary School or Naquag Elementary School websites.
