HOLDEN — This past holiday season, Worcester County Sheriff Lewis Evangelidis, the NEPBA Local 550 Worcester County Correction Officers, and the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office held their annual Food Drive among department employees. As a result, thousands of dollars worth of nonperishable food and canned goods were collected.
On Dec. 18, Sheriff Evangelidis and various WCSO staff members had the opportunity to deliver what was collected to the Wachusett Food Pantry to benefit area families ahead of the holiday.
“The employees at the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office do everything they can, year-round, to support the communities we serve,” said Evangelidis. “Over the past month, employees have raised a tremendous amount of food to help those in need. We owe it to the staff of the Sheriff’s Office who are committed to making a difference in the lives of others.”
