HOLDEN – John Kennedy of Holden, a local artist, has donated a painting of Town Hall and town common to the town clerk’s office.
Jeanne Hudson, town clerk, accepted the painting on behalf of the town.
Kennedy said he had painted it about 15 years ago and wanted to donate it to the town.
“The clerk’s office recently moved across the hallway, and we needed art work for our walls,” Hudson said. “It is a beautiful addition to our office.”
Hudson said she noted to Kennedy that the tree that is prominent in the painting was recently taken down due to damage.
“I was able to acquire a cutting from the tree, and plan to display the tree cutting with the painting,” she said. “Mr. Kennedy is helping me preserve a little
bit of the town’s history.”
