Holdin' Back plays Polar Park

HOLDEN — Local band Holdin’ Back the 60’s closed out its concert season during the WooSox’s final 2023 homestand. The band was invited to join the WooSox at Polar Park with a pregame concert at Gate A on Sept. 14.

Craig Smith of Holden, on bass, keyboards and vocals; Dave Gozdur of Holden, on drums and vocals; Joe Reidy of Westminster on rhythm guitar, trombone, bass and vocals; and Ronnie Medeiros of Westminster on lead guitar and vocals, the band’s new ’60s roster, played to increasing crowd sizes at 11 area bandstands this summer, plus Holden Days and the Sterling Fair.

Next year, the band, which has evolved from a power trio to a contemporary band to a ’60s band, will be 10 years old. Original members Smith and Gozdur continue to rock outdoor audiences throughout Central Mass., and with Medeiros and Reidy have created a unique, ’60s sound that will continue to entertain for years to come.
