WORCESTER — The Hanover Theatre Conservatory for the Performing Arts held open auditions Aug. 30 for the Youth Ballet Company; auditions are scheduled for the annual production of ‘The Nutcracker’ on Sunday, Sept. 11.
The auditions are open to the public, and outside dancers are encouraged to audition.
‘Nutcracker’ auditions Audition times Sept. 11 are: ages 13 and older, 9 to 11 a.m.; ages 10-12, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; ages 7 to 9, 1:15 to 3 p.m.
Callback times are: ages 7-9, 3:15 to 4:30 p.m.; ages 10-12, 4:45 to 6 p.m.; ages 13 and older, 6:15 to 7:30 p.m.
Dancers will be assessed on their technique, skill level and ability via a technical ballet class where students work on barre exercises, center practice and combinations en diagonale.
An audition fee of $15 for Conservatory students and $45 for non-Conservatory students is required at the time of audition.
All dancers must register for the audition, and preregistration is highly recommended.
This year’s production of ‘The Nutcracker’ will be performed Nov. 25-27 at The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory for the Performing Arts.
