PRINCETON — Mass Audubon’s Central Region Team invites the community to gather for the annual spring Mix and Mingle at the Meadow.
The event is being held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary on Goodnow Road. Attendees will have the opportunity to celebrate current projects and the year to come.
“Mass Audubon’s Wachusett Meadow and Broad Meadow Brook teams have been hosting this member event for many years as a way to celebrate local successes and raise awareness of opportunities to get involved,” said Central Mass Audubon Regional Director Jenn Madson.
Guests can enjoy appetizers, beer and wine accompanied by live music performed by local favorite and Americana-inspired The Hip Swayers, all while learning about the programs and partnerships offered by the nonprofit organization.
“This is a way for Mass Audubon members and supporters to learn more about our conservation work, nature education, and climate action projects across Worcester County while building community,” Madson said. “Enjoy food, fun, and music at one of our most dear local treasures, Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary.”
She went on to say that it’s important to Mass Audubon to provide these kinds of community-oriented events as a way to get people involved in the “critical work” they do.
“Mass Audubon is committed to protecting the nature of Massachusetts for people and for wildlife,” Madson said. “Community gatherings like our Mix and Mingle and fall Hey Day event strengthen people’s connection to and love of nature. We love seeing our friends and neighbors get as excited about this work as we do.”
She added that they appreciate the community’s “ongoing care and passion for Mass Audubon’s mission.”
“We hope the good work happening at our sanctuaries every day encourages your continued connection and inspires your support,” she said. “If you have already made a gift this year, we are very grateful. If you wish to make a gift now or to provide an additional contribution, please go to massaudubon.org or visit web.massaudubon.org/site/Donation and select Wachusett Meadow or Broad Meadow Brook as your chosen sanctuary from the drop-down menu.”
She also encourages people to consider becoming Mass Audubon members, which comes with many benefits. For information about Mix and Mingle at the Meadow, which has a rain date of June 13 (same time and location), or to sign up to become a member, visit massaudubon.org or call Wachusett Meadow at 978-464-2712.
