PRINCETON — With 36.08% of registered voters participating in the election, Karen Cruise was returned to her seat on the Select Board. Cruise garnered 717 votes in the May 13 town election, winning over challenger Edwin Carlson, who collected 392 votes.
Two residents were running for the town’s single town seat on the Wachusett Regional School District Committee; Dana Lorway retained the seat with a tally of 606 votes over Stephanie Jordan’s 377.
Election results for uncontested positions were: Assessor, Timothy Hammond, 912 votes; Electric Light Commissioner, Philip Gordon Gott, 902; Trustee of Trust Funds, two seats, William Holder, 911, and Bryan David Acuto, 859; Planning Board, two seats, Corey Burnham-Howard, 743, and Lawrence Louis Deblois, 714; Moderator, Harry Pape, 938.
Voters approved a referendum question on accepting the state provisions indemnifying municipal officers, elected or appointed, from personal financial loss if acting within the official scope of their duties, 628 in favor and 223 opposed.
With 1,121 of 3,107 voters casting ballots, Princeton hit a 36.08% turnout according to official results, with 773 ballots cast in person on Election Day, 32 absentee and 316 by mail.
