Princeton has contests for Select Board, school committee

PRINCETON — Voters have a few decisions to make as they go to the polls for the annual town election on May 13, including for the single Select Board seat on the ballot. Voting is from noon to 8 p.m. at Thomas Prince School

Incumbent Karen Cruise and challenger Edwin Carlson are vying for the three-year seat on the board.

Two residents are running for the single town seat on the Wachusett Regional School District Committee, a race between incumbent Dana Lorway and Stephanie Jordan for the three-year position.

Timothy Hammond is seeking re-election to the three-year seat as an assessor.

Incumbent Philip Gordon Gott is running to return to the three-year seat as an electric light commissioner.

The Trustee of Trust Funds has two seats on the ballot. William Holder is seeking re-election to the three-year seat, and Bryan David Acuto is seeking the two-year seat.

There are two three-year seats up for the Planning Board, with Corey Burnham-Howard and Lawrence Louis Deblois running for those positions.

Harry Pape is seeking re-election to the one-year post of moderator.

Voters will also decide a referendum question on accepting the state provisions indemnifying municipal officers, elected or appointed, from personal financial loss if acting within the official scope of their duties.

The deadline to register to vote in the election is May 3.

The town clerk has already processed almost 500 vote-by-mail applications; in-person early voting is not offered in this election.

The mail-in ballot application deadline for the election is 5 p.m. Monday, May 6.
