PRINCETON — Voters will see seven boards on the town election ballot May 13 that need candidates to serve on the committees that keep the town’s volunteer government operating.
In the prelude to the election, the town caucus will nominate candidates, up to two for each seat, in a process that has been used for generations.
If a quorum of 25 voters do not show up for the caucus, candidates will have to follow the process used by most other towns: paper nominations, which will require signatures from at least 20 registered voters.
Simplifying the process, voters will gather for the caucus Wednesday, March 13, at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall annex; once the count reaches 25, business can proceed.
For those not nominated by caucus, papers are available at the town clerk’s office. Completed nomination papers must be filed with the Registrars of Voters at the town clerk’s office by 5 p.m. Monday, March 25. The last day to object to nominations or withdraw nomination papers is 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 10.
