Bucknell Univ. graduate
LEWISBURG, Pa. — Chris Maskas of Sterling was among more than 800 graduates of Bucknell University celebrated at commencement ceremonies on May 14. The class of 2023 represents more than 60 majors across Bucknell’s three colleges: Arts & Sciences, Engineering and the Freeman College of Management. These students hail from 33 U.S. states and 25 nations.
American International College graduates
SPRINGFIELD — American International College in Springfield has awarded degrees to 364 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students in 2023. Congratulations to these recent graduates.
The following local students have been awarded degrees from AIC: Graciana Drakes of Holden, Bachelor of Science; Brendan Moran of Holden, Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study; Katherine Parent of Paxton, Master of Education; and Jennifer Beaudreau of Rutland, Master of Education.
Univ. of Dallas graduate
IRVING, Texas — Elisabeth Brehany of Holden graduated from the University of Dallas in May. Brehany earned a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Constantin College at UD’s spring 2023 commencement ceremony. In addition to the basic and advanced requirements specific to the subject, a BA in biology at the University of Dallas also requires two years of fundamental coursework in the humanities, sciences, politics, mathematics and fine arts. Constantin College students must also complete coursework in Ancient Greek, French, German, Italian, Latin or Spanish.
Quinnipiac Univ. graduates
HAMDEN, Conn. — The following local students received degrees from Quinnipiac University during commencement ceremonies held in May: Cailan Bennett of Holden, Bachelor of Business Administration; Abbygail Simes of Rutland, Bachelor of Science, nursing; and Aidan Moisan of Sterling, Bachelor of Science, business analytics and computer information systems.
Anna Maria College dean’s list
PAXTON — Anna Maria College recently announced academic honors for students named to the dean’s list for the Spring 2023 Semester. Anna Maria awards dean’s list recognition to students enrolled in a full-time undergraduate day program in good standing who have attained in the previous semester a GPA of 3.5 with no grade lower than “B” for a minimum of four courses.

McKendree Univ. dean’s list
LEBANON, Ill. — Congratulations to Jenna Sugarman of Holden, who was named to the McKendree University spring 2023 semester dean’s list for earning a grade point average of 3.60 or higher.
Springfield Technical Community College dean’s list
SPRINGFIELD — Bridgett Jones of Sterling has been named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at Springfield Technical Community College. The dean’s list is published each semester to recognize excellence in academic performance. To be considered, degree-seeking students must earn 12 or more college level credits in the current semester, or a total of 12 or more combined college-level credits earned during the fall and spring semesters, and achieve a 3.3 or above grade point average.
Marquette Univ. dean’s list
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Bella Philbin of Sterling has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2023 semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee. Philbin is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Siena College dean’s list
Loudonville, N.Y. — Jacob Williams of Holden has been named to the Siena College dean’s list for the spring 2023 semester. To be named to the dean’s list, a student’s grade point average for the semester must be between 3.5 and 3.89.
Rensselair Polytenic Institute dean’s honor list
TROY, N.Y. — Caitlin Moughan of Holden, who is studying mechanical engineering, has made the dean’s honor list for the spring 2023 semester at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Rensselaer’s dean’s honor list is compiled at the end of each semester to recognize undergraduate students who have completed 12 or more credit hours with a 3.5 grade point average or better for that term.
Muhlenberg College dean’s list
ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Congratulations to Lilliana Savino of Holden for being named to Muhlenberg College’s dean’s list for the spring 2023 semester. Muhlenberg College students and Muhlenberg College School of Continuing Studies students with a term GPA of 3.50 or higher were recognized for this academic achievement.
Nichols College partners with Indianapolis Metropolitan PD
DUDLEY — Nichols College has announced a new partnership with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department to assist first responders with pursuing their advanced degrees.
Some 1,700 Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers now have the opportunity to enroll in online master’s degree programs at Nichols College and take advantage of a 40% tuition discount. Military veterans employed at Indianapolis Metropolitan Police will also have the additional advantage of discounted flat rates and waived fees. The Graduate School at Nichols College offers an MBA, Executive MBA, Master of Science in Counterterrorism, Master of Science in Organizational Leadership, and Master of Science in Accounting.
