I was amused to read the Feb. 16 story (in The Landmark) about a former local office seeker who was so frightened by aging liberals at the Feb. 6 meeting of the Holden Board of Selectmen that he is now “afraid to attend meetings ever again.” To be paralyzed with fear at a selectmen’s meeting is not a good argument for being elected to office.
I was even more amused when I realized the frightened chap was Aidan Kearney, who runs the tawdry tbdailynews.com, one of a series of his websites under the Turtleboy name on which he and his sycophants have for years harassed unfortunate citizens, and particularly school teachers, from towns and cities all over the commonwealth. I had assumed Kearney to be a fearless fighter for incivility, so it was a bit of a shock to see that image melt like a snowflake in the presence of a mild-mannered selectman (a selectman who was not quoted in the article, by the way).
I await Kearney’s next run for public office because humor is in short supply these days. It is always funny to see someone who dishes out vile attacks rush to the fainting couch when facing the mildest of verbal remonstration.
