PAXTON — Area seniors and friends are getting ready to travel to Scotland, Wales and England this fall, but there is still time to join in the excursion. AAA Member Choice Vacations/Collette Travel has seats available for others until April 2, 2023.
After a very successful presentation, many area travelers put down refundable deposits for the trip. Those deposits allow us to cancel for any reason up to 24 hours before departure.
The group will leave Sunday, Oct. 1, and return on Tuesday, Oct. 10. We fly into Edinburgh, Scotland, for two nights, then on to York, England, for one night. After York, our next two nights are spent in Chester, with a short stop in Wales. Following our stay in Chester, we move on to Stratfordupon- Avon, and then Oxford. The last two nights will be spent in London.
Some of the highlights of this tour are either walking or motorcoach tours of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Castle, and then heading south to York and the Roman Hadrian’s Wall. After an overnight in York, we motor to Wales and Chester for two nights.
The next stop, Stratford-Upon-Avon, is the birthplace of William Shakespeare. The next day, before heading for two nights in London, will offer a stop at the charming university city of Oxford, the town in which much of the Harry Potter movies were filmed.
Finally, two nights in London will give participants the chance to view or experience many of the historical sights.
For those wishing to extend their trip, a three-night Paris post-tour extension is available.
The tour cost covers transportation from Holden to Logan Airport and return; airfare from Boston to Edinburgh, returning home from London; hotel stays in Edinburgh, York, Chester, Stratford-Upon-Avon and London; eight breakfasts, one lunch and four dinners.
The per-person cost is $3,599 for double occupancy, and $4,299 single if deposit is made by April 2, 2023. The price could change after that depending on availability and inflationary changes. Insurance and special tour options are extra. We strongly recommend insurance as it protects your deposits and covers you for emergencies of all sorts while on the trip.
