As I was preparing to volunteer to work at the polls for this year’s November election, I was struck by the reports in the news from around the country of expressions of anger and hate towards poll workers.
Given this background, Iwaspleasantlysurprised to find that this was not the case in Holden. Even when people had to wait for extended periods of time to vote, people were generally patient and tolerant of the process. Such experiences, renew my hope that a return to civility and tolerance for each other (whatever our views) is possible.
