Veterans Day Observances STERLING — The Hiram O. Taylor American Legion Post 189 announces Sterling Veterans Day observances. At 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, a parade will be held from Butterick Municipal Building to Memorial Park on Cross Street. Come out to help support our veterans past and present. The Avenue of Flags at Hillside Cemetery will be on display from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting. Help setting up is always appreciated.

White Oak Annual Meeting HOLDEN — The White Oak Land Conservation Society invites all to its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Holden Senior Center, 1130 Main St. The keynote speaker will be Jason Stolarski, Ph.D., Watership Project Leader with Mass Wildlife’s Fisheries Section, who will present “Ecological linkages between land, water, and fish.”

Chamber Salute Breakfast The Wachusett Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Salute Breakfast on Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the West Boylston Senior Center, 120 Prescott St., West Boylston. COA Art Show PAXTON — Members of the Massasoit Art Guild will present a new show at the Paxton COA gallery, 17 West St. The show will run through January 2023. Historical Society Open House RUTLAND — The Rutland Historical Society, 232 Main St., is holding open house on Veterans Day Weekend, Friday, Nov. 11, from 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. Highlights of the exhibits on display will include military uniforms, war-time newspapers, photographs, WWII posters, and other memorabilia from the collections. The society is also looking for photographs of any Rutland service men and women to display that weekend. COA annual Craft Fair RUTLAND — The Friends of the Council on Aging will hold its annual Holiday Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Senior/ Community Center, 53 Glenwood Road. The event will offer great holiday shopping, with lots of local artists and crafters. Baked goods and lunch will be available, as well as raffles, 50/50, and gift baskets. Admission is free.

Paxton Toys for Tots PAXTON — The Paxton Police Department will be conducting its annual Toys for Tots drive from Nov. 1 to Dec. 18. Friends of Conant Library Arts & Crafts Show STERLING — The annual Friends of the Conant Public Library Arts & Crafts Show will be held the Saturday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the First Church, 6 Meetinghouse Hill Road. Holiday and gift items will fill the main hall of the First Church and two additional rooms. The fair will also feature a raffle, bake sale, and lunch café.

Save the Date: Christmas Tree and Wreath Sale STERLING — Boy Scout Troop 1 of Sterling will be holding its annual Christmas tree and wreath sale from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2; from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3; and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, in front of the Butterick Building, across from the Sterling town common. There may even be a visitor from the North Pole on Friday night.

Festival of Trees RUTLAND — The Festival of Trees, sponsored by the Rutland Historical Society, will be held Dec. 3 and 4. The town tree lighting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.

Small Works & Holiday Marketplace PRINCETON — Come browse, shop and enjoy hundreds of fine art and artisan-made, affordable holiday gift items made by members of the Princeton Arts Society. The marketplace will offer small wall art in many media, and tables will overflow with jewelry, cards, prints, ornaments, fabric items, original books, bags, ceramics, woodworking and more. Holiday Market STERLING — The organizers of the Sterling Street Market have organized the first Sterling Holiday Market, to be held at the First Church in Sterling, 6 Meetinghouse Hill Road, on Saturday, Dec. 10. The Holiday Market will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will offer a wide variety of crafters, artists and bakers. Admission is free, and there is plenty of free parking around and near the common.

Dinovember at the Conant Library. What is Dinovember? Parents and co-authors Refe & Susan Tuma began Dinovember, capturing the antics of dinosaurs who got into all kinds of mischief overnight. It took off in a big way, and now it’s a monthly celebration every November. There’s even a picture book, What the Dinosaurs Did! To celebrate, people capture photographs and videos of dinosaurs in funny situations, and this November, the library will be participating. All month long the library will have dinosaur activities, crafts and special programs.

Yoga for Adults Wind down at the end of the day with a relaxing yoga class. Instructor Sharyn Hocurscak will lead yoga classes Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at the 1835 Town Hall in Sterling, Nov. 1 through Dec. 6. Registration required. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Humans of all ages and artistic abilities who also have a CW/ Mars account (need one? just ask!) are invited to pick up two miniature canvases (2.5 x 2.5 inches) from the library. Create art with pencil, charcoal, paint (oil, watercolor, acrylic, gouache), pastels, or oil pastels, or mixed media. Original, human generated art only.
